Rainbow River 2007

I never bore with the Rainbow River. The water is cool and crystal clear. Even though much of the riverfront is bordered by homes, the wildlife is abundant.

Several otters graced us with their presence. Otters are symbols of joy and playfulness. "Honor otter and it will teach you not only how to have fun, but it will reawaken a new sense of wonder at life and all things within it." --Ted Andrews, Animal-Speak.

My husband hooked this large wasp nest while fishing. The wasps were getting angry, and he was forced to cut the line. We retrieved the broken line once the wasps abandoned their home. The nest was hanging low, at face level for most canoeists or kayakers. As we travelled toward the spring, I issued a warning to those traveling downstream.
